News Feed Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Admiral (Retd) D K Joshi on Tuesday flagged-off a fleet of 14 electric buses in the union territory. Last year in March, state-owned power producer NTPC had said it will deploy electric buses in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and will also set up public charging infrastructure in the UT.In this regard, NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd (NVVN) had signed an agreement with Department of Transport of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to deploy the e-buses.NVVN has signed a MOU with AAI (Airports Authority of India) to set up Ground mounted/roof top solar PV Project at Airports of AAI under RESCO mode. NVVN will also provide energy solutions to AAI by supplying electricity through open access. NVVN and AAI will support GOIs initiatives for adoption of electric vechilces by creation of charging infra and prompting EV at airports of AAI NVVN signed an MOU with Greenko Energies Pvt Ltd to explore the possibility to offer Round the Clock (RTC) renewable energy power by trading, collaboration and partnership in Integrated Renewable Energy Storage Projects set up by GREENKOEoI: Supply of paddy straw, other agro residue and leasing of 4-5 Acres land for 10 years for setting up of Pellet Plants in the State of Haryana and PunjabMinistry of Power, Govt of India has nominated NVVN as Settlement Nodal Agency for Cross Border Power Trading for Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maynmar and Nepal.
